Hello there! I'm Aiyla. I am a neurodivergent, queer, and disabled Somatic Therapist-in-training with a focus on embracing the entirety of the human experience from life to death through working with body, mind, soul, and social context. I utilize realism, non-judgment, compassion, acceptance, and relationship to delve into all aspects of being human and do not shy away from the messy, imperfect, gritty or shadowy aspects. I specialize in somatic integration and acceptance, grief, loss, death anxiety, transitions, neuro-affirming care and disability, working to support clients in finding their innate inner wisdom so they can live their lives fully.

As a master’s level graduate student in the Somatic Body Psychotherapy program at Naropa University, my approach stems from a variety of theoretical modalities, incorporating trauma-informed mindfulness and somatic practices tailored to each client's unique needs. I use an integrative approach rooted in person-centered, existential, somatic, transpersonal and humanistic methodology, striving to draw from a variety of wisdom to best support the client. I am passionate about encouraging clients in exploring and discovering their authentic whole selves, needs and desires to navigate a path towards fulfillment while encouraging connection to self, body and others. I strive to practice from an inclusive and trauma-informed lens, and am comfortable in navigating differences.

I work with everything from life to death and beyond, honoring ancestral history and belief systems, supporting in unraveling decades of pain and generational trauma, facilitating the confrontation of one's mortality, honoring and exploring the process of grieving, integrating and releasing. My ultimate goal is to support clients in transforming their relationship to self and others into a fully lived experience.
